Sync Disk with your phone and computer

Calendar and contacts connect via CalDAV and CardDAV, files via WebDAV. You need the server address, a short login and an app password.

What you need

Apps will not accept your main mailbox password: sign-in to Disk goes through the website, and apps need a separate password that you can revoke at any time without changing the main one.

Server
disk.alpost.ch
Login
short, like u123 — shown in your account in the Disk section. It is not your mailbox address
Password
an app password: on Disk, Settings → Security → Devices & sessions → Create new app password

iPhone and iPad

  1. Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add CalDAV Account.
  2. Server — disk.alpost.ch, user name — your u-number, password — the app password.
  3. For contacts, the same: Other → Add CardDAV Account.

Android

  1. Install the free DAVx⁵ app from Google Play or F-Droid.
  2. Add an account with sign-in by URL and user name: URL https://disk.alpost.ch, user name — your u-number, password — the app password.
  3. Select the calendars and address books you need — they appear in the regular Calendar and Contacts apps.

Files on a computer

  1. Windows: File Explorer → This PC → Map network drive → the WebDAV address from the table above, then your u-number and app password.
  2. macOS: Finder → Go menu → Connect to Server → the same WebDAV address.
  3. Linux: in your file manager, open davs://disk.alpost.ch/remote.php/dav/files/u123/ with your u-number.
  4. Apps that sync folders over WebDAV work too: they need the same address, login and app password.

Thunderbird

  1. Calendar: New Calendar → On the Network → user name — your u-number, location — https://disk.alpost.ch/remote.php/dav/, then the app password.
  2. Contacts: Address Book → New CardDAV Address Book → the same address and login.

If an app does not connect

  1. the login is the u-number from your account, not the mailbox address
  2. the password must be an app password: apps will not accept the main one
  3. the server is exactly disk.alpost.ch, without prefixes
  4. you can delete the app password and create a new one in the same Disk settings — the old one stops working immediately
